What every catalogue entry tells you.

A printed reference is only useful if you can tell how current it is. Each entry repeats the same four facts so you never have to guess.

A stack of hardcover titles photographed in low warm light
Series
Whether the title is a guidebook, a data report, or a resource directory.
Edition
How many times the title has been revised, counted from its first printing.
Revision date
The month the content was last verified end to end.
Credits
Every contributor and checker credited by name, with their credential type.
Sponsor disclosure
If an edition was funded by a sponsor, the entry says so, states what the funding covered, and confirms that no editorial control was exchanged. Read the policy

Publication notices, revision alerts, and the annual data report — a handful of emails a year, nothing else.
