About the imprint

We publish the local part of the first year.

Pawrent Press is an independent publishing imprint. We make city-specific first-year guidebooks, annual data reports, and curated resource directories — researched and written by credentialed local professionals, then verified by our editors before anything reaches a reader.

In one line

Pawrent Press is a publisher. That is the whole of what we do.

We do not provide care, advice, coaching, referrals, or bookings.

01 — The work

What an imprint actually does.

An imprint is a small publishing house with a point of view. Ours is that the hardest questions in a pet's first year are local ones: which services exist near you, what the seasonal risks are where you live, and what the rules say in your city rather than in general.

So we do the unglamorous work. We commission local professionals. We check their credentials at source. We run a separate fact-checking pass on every claim. We print our sources. And we revise, because cities change faster than books do.

Everything below is placeholder copy for the owner to replace with the imprint's own history and story.

02 — Scope

What Pawrent Press is not.

It is worth being blunt about this, because the answers people need in the first year often come from someone else.

Not a veterinary service

We publish reference material. We do not diagnose, treat, prescribe, or give individual medical advice.

Not a coaching service

There are no sessions, programmes, or consultations here. We publish books and reports, and that is all.

Not an AI app

No generator, no chatbot, no automated answers. Every page is written and checked by named people.

Not a marketplace

We do not take orders, sell third-party services, or process bookings on anyone's behalf.

Not a referral service

Directory entries are research records, not recommendations or paid placements. We do not hand your details to anyone.

Not affiliated

Any organisations, brands, or professionals appearing in an edition are credited sources or sponsors — never partners in editorial decisions.

03 — How we are organised

Four desks, kept deliberately separate.

01

Commissioning desk

Chooses which cities to publish for, and which categories each edition must cover.

02

Verification desk

Checks contributor credentials against primary registers and keeps the dated record.

03

Checking desk

Runs the independent fact-check pass and holds the right to cut any claim without a source.

04

Production desk

Handles design, print, edition numbering, and the revision schedule.

Read the standards before the books.

Our methodology page sets out exactly how contributors are chosen and verified, how fact-checking works, and how sponsor independence is protected.
