Support an edition

Fund a print run. Keep your hands off the page.

Sponsorship pays for printing, distribution, and the verification work behind an edition. It never buys a page, a listing, a recommendation, or a line of copy. Every sponsored title states who funded it and what that did and did not cover.

02 — The boundary

Written into every agreement.

A sponsor may

  • Choose which city edition or report to fund.
  • Be credited by name on a fixed sponsor page.
  • Receive the agreed bulk copies.
  • Confirm the print date and the disclosure wording in advance.
  • Withdraw from future editions at any time.

A sponsor may never

  • See, comment on, or approve editorial copy before publication.
  • Appear inside a directory listing or a recommendation.
  • Be described as a partner, endorser, or adviser of the imprint.
  • Receive reader data, subscriber lists, or enquiries.
  • Influence which cities we publish for or how findings read.

Example disclosure block

“Printing of this edition was funded by [Sponsor Name]. The sponsor had no involvement in commissioning, writing, checking, or approving any part of this book, and no reader information was shared with them.”

The same wording appears on the title's catalogue entry. Placeholder text — confirm with your own policy before use.

03 — How it works

From enquiry to colophon in five steps.

Sponsorship runs on the publication calendar, so the earlier in a cycle you enquire, the more titles are open.

  1. 01

    Enquiry by email

Tell us which series interests you and which cities or reports you want to support.

  2. 02

    Availability check

We confirm which titles in the next cycle are unsponsored and send the current rate card.

  3. 03

    Agreement

A short agreement sets out the fee, the credit wording, the disclosure block, and the independence terms.

  4. 04

    Editorial runs independently

Commissioning, writing, verification, and checking proceed exactly as they would for an unsponsored title.

  5. 05

    Print, credit, report

The edition prints with the disclosure, the sponsor is credited on this site, and bulk copies are dispatched.

Independence is the product.

A guidebook readers trust is worth more to a sponsor than a page of advertising. That is the whole argument for funding one.
